Live performance!
Domino @ the ShapeShifter Lab
May 8th 7PM EST
Domino @ the ShapeShifter Lab
The upcoming live set at the ShapeShifter Lab consists of a selection of works from the ensemble’s latest EP Drunken Raccoon (2020) and the group’s first album Purple Ego (Centaur – 2019). Drunken Raccoon is the ensemble’s recent exploration in trio format that fuses elements of tango, jazz, free improvisation and electronics. Drunken Raccoon, Polish Vodka, and Recontextualizations (a personal homage to Anthony Braxton) are included in the live set among other works. The Domino Ensemble transits a path between jazz, tango, free improvisation and electronic music. Its sound is at the same time all of those things and none of them. The unique programming and receptiveness of the ShapeShifter Lab are an excellent fit for our experimentations. We are thrilled to be part!
Jorge Variego (saxophone and composition), Jon Hama (double bass), Keith Brown (drums).
Date: September 23rd - 4PM EST
